A lot of people would state a two-fold purpose at this point, but my purpose is three-fold.  This translates into a 50% gain in purpose value at absolutely no additional cost.  My first reason is to spread the word on the potential that business intelligence and analytics holds.  My second motive is to interact with others who have a passion for data and want to put it to practical use.  Call it “learning by doing” or “getting your hands dirty,” the fact is that without struggling with real challenges faced by those who work in the BI and Analytics space, stagnation will result and growth will slow.  This is a lose-lose situation for you personally as well as for the organization you represent.
